The in-house model reads layouts, layers and styles to edit designs alongside users, and it debuts for Canva Pro subscribers Canva has a new collaborator, and it doesn’t need a coffee break. The design platform launched Canva Brush on October 29, 2026. It is a vision-language model built to edit designs alongside the people making them. That matters because Brush is homegrown. Canva is moving away from renting AI and toward building the engine itself. A vision-language model, or VLM, is AI that can both see and read.
