ByteDance, Alibaba and Tencent have ordered more than $35 billion worth of NVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 graphics cards, but production limits could leave most of the requested chips undelivered. The companies ordered more than 3 million cards, priced at about $11,400 apiece. NVIDIA has told partners that shortages may restrict deliveries to 5% to 10% of the orders because demand exceeds production capacity. The RTX PRO 5500 does not use NVIDIA's latest Blackwell architecture. Under U.S. export controls, it is the most powerful compliant NVIDIA chip currently available for purchase in China.
