Brockman Says OpenAI Could Be Ready to Go Public in 2027

OpenAI President Greg Brockman said Wednesday he believes the company may be ready to go public in 2027, and separately outlined recent gains in its enterprise business. Asked whether OpenAI could be ready to list next year, Brockman replied, “I think so. Yes.” He said the company plans to go public when it decides the timing is right. Brockman also described himself as highly confident in the business and its progress this year. He called the first half of 2026 a difficult period for OpenAI. The company had Codex, but had not drawn attention in agentic coding, Brockman said.
