The Opentensor Foundation is rolling out three post-quantum signing algorithms for TAO transfers, staking and validator operations, though the upgrade has not yet reached mainnet Bittensor is preparing its wallets for a threat that doesn’t fully exist yet. The network has introduced native support for post-quantum digital signatures on its Subtensor blockchain. The goal is to keep core activity, including TAO transfers, staking and validator work, secure if quantum computers eventually crack today’s cryptography. The Opentensor Foundation formally announced the feature on November 6, 2026. The code itself was merged into the release-487 development branch on October 27, 2026.
