BitMart Founder Says Exchange Was Attacked Tuesday.

BitMart founder Sheldon Xia said the cryptocurrency exchange was attacked Tuesday, Nov. 3, and that an initial review suggested the same group may have attacked Brazil’s Mercado Bitcoin that day. Xia characterized the amount involved in the BitMart incident as small. He said the team quickly opened an investigation and strengthened its security defenses. The suspected connection remains preliminary. Xia described the possibility that the two attacks involved the same organization as an early assessment, not a confirmed finding. Mercado Bitcoin was also named in the suspected link.
