September’s crypto security incidents included approximately $388 million in unauthorized transfers at Bitget, wallet activity affecting some DCENT App Wallet users and exploits involving staking infrastructure and bridges. The events used different measures of exposure, including verified affected assets, unauthorized transfers, minted tokens and funds potentially at risk. Those figures do not support a single combined monthly loss total. Bitget’s verified affected amount was approximately $388 million across 12 wallet addresses. Unauthorized transfers began Sept. 24, 2026, at 2:31 p.m. ET (6:31 p.m. UTC) from parts of the exchange’s hot- and warm-wallet infrastructure.
