Bitcoin Faces Greater Liquidation Risk Below Support Than Above $85,000

Bitcoin (BTC) is near a support area with a large cluster of long liquidations below it, while short liquidation positions have accumulated above $85,000 during the past week. A further decline could bring the lower cluster into play and trigger a chain of forced position closures. A separate liquidation cluster sits near $75,000. Liquidation positions are trades that may be forcibly closed when prices move against them. When many positions are concentrated around a price area, movement into that area can lead to multiple closures in quick succession.
