Bitcoin, Ether Slide as $770 Million in Crypto Positions Are Liquidated

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) extended their declines Tuesday as $770 million in crypto positions were liquidated over 24 hours, with leveraged long positions accounting for most of the losses. Bitcoin fell 2.9% to $81,510 after dropping below $81,500. Ether declined nearly 4.8% and slipped below $2,425. Long positions accounted for $685 million of the liquidations, compared with $85 million in short positions. Other major tokens also weakened. Solana (SOL) fell 7.6% to $103.18 after touching $101.69, while XRP declined 6.2% to $1.3233.
