Binance says it has covered about $6 billion in losses from a security breach that affected roughly $6.3 billion in assets, with a shortfall remaining in less-liquid tokens. Binance also described replenishment as covering about 90% of the stolen assets. The update therefore gives both a dollar measure and a share of the recovery, while identifying less-liquid tokens as the part still outstanding. The earlier $6.3 billion estimate refers to the total funds affected by the breach. Binance's newer $6 billion figure refers to losses covered, so the two numbers describe different stages of the incident.
