Binance: $6.3B drained in largest digital asset theft on record

TL;DR: Binance says an attacker drained about $6.3 billion from its online wallets on October 29, making it the largest theft in digital asset history. The exchange has suspended deposits and withdrawals, says user funds are safe, and promises to cover all losses from its SAFU insurance fund and company funds. About $3 billion of the stolen assets has already been frozen on-chain by issuers, including Tether and Circle ( NASDAQ: CRCL ) .
