Aztec Publicly Launches Tierra After V6 Replaces Flawed V5 Rollup

Aztec publicly launched Tierra, its sixth alpha release for a privacy-focused Ethereum layer 2, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, adding a new brand and a lineup of private applications. The network’s V6 upgrade went live on Oct. 26 after a token-holder vote. Because V5’s rollup contracts could not be changed, Aztec replaced the rollup to address a flaw that could have let the network accept a proof for a transaction it should have rejected. Aztec will keep V5 funded for about 30 days to give users time to migrate.
