AstraZeneca Shares Gain 7.02%; Third-Quarter Revenue Rises 7%

AstraZeneca shares gained 7.02% on the New York Stock Exchange Friday, Oct. 30, the same day the drugmaker released third-quarter results and outlined a restructuring program. At the NYSE close at 4 p.m. ET (2000 UTC), AstraZeneca (AZN) was $186.65, up $12.25 from the previous close of $174.40. The S&P 500 fell 1.8% that day, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.9%. The company’s results and restructuring announcement came before U.S. trading began. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $16.209 billion, up 7% at actual and constant exchange rates.
