AssemblyAI details Voice Standard Bench picks for transcript correction

AssemblyAI said its Voice Standard Bench now offers live picks for transcript correction, a narrow post-processing task meant to clean speech-to-text output without changing what was said. The company’s Oct. 28, 2026 post says the benchmark weighs faithfulness, improvement, latency and cost across four transcript lengths, and warns that the fastest or cheapest model is not necessarily the safest choice for accuracy. Transcript correction, as defined by AssemblyAI, is a constrained rewrite task: remove filler words, false starts and stutters; fix punctuation, capitalization and obvious mis-transcriptions; and preserve every fact, name, number and claim as spoken.
