Argentina’s Comisión Nacional de Valores (CNV) launched the country’s first Open Investment Fund (FCIA), a peso-denominated product designed to replicate the MSCI MERVAL index. The fund is intended to widen access to Argentine equities for local and foreign investors. Its index-linked structure offers a passive way to gain exposure to the market. The fund’s shares will be traded on Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos S.A. (BYMA). The fund has a single class of fund units and carries no risk rating. The MSCI MERVAL is a stock index.
