Arbitrum’s Security Council moved funds from a wallet it identified as tied to the Binance exploit without its private key, showing how the network’s upgrade controls can bypass a wallet signature. The move took place at 8:08 p.m. ET Oct. 29 (12:08 a.m. UTC Oct. 30). The council transferred 74,559,805.2 Arbitrum (ARB) and about 8,426 Ether (ETH) to a temporary holding address ending in 0DA0. The council’s 9-of-12 Safe called Ethereum’s L1 UpgradeExecutor. The executor briefly redirected the Inbox proxy to an override implementation that let Arbitrum One process messages as if they came from the targeted wallet.
