Anthropic Seeks Japan Compute Lead With Multiple-Gigawatt Remit

Anthropic is hiring a Tokyo-based Compute Country Lead, Japan, to coordinate Japan’s compute strategy with a remit to scale from initial sites to multiple gigawatts. The role covers site selection and leasing, energy, financing, government relations, construction and operations. Functional specialists would be hired and managed by teams in San Francisco, while the Japan lead coordinates the work and represents Anthropic with Japanese government officials, utilities and energy providers. The position calls for a background in energy, infrastructure or a related field. Anthropic strongly prefers a Japanese national with existing ties to the government and energy industries.
