Anthropic flags US data center moratoriums as top growth risk in S-1 filing

Anthropic , the developer behind the Claude AI, has highlighted potential data center construction moratoriums in its S-1 filing as a significant risk to its growth trajectory. The company’s disclosure indicates that U.S. moratoriums could impede the expansion of necessary facilities for its compute capacity. Notably, Anthropic has allocated approximately $417 billion towards compute-related commitments, with further capacity arrangements pending final pricing. The regulatory landscape, reflecting concerns over grid strain and environmental impacts, has led 16 states to consider such moratoriums.
