The median Anthropic employee's meeting time climbed 20% over the past year, while the company's growing use of Claude agents changed how some staff performed their jobs. Calendar records show a 16% increase for technical individual contributors, employees who work in technical roles without managing a team. Anthropic's expansion and a shift toward nontechnical jobs with more meetings contributed to the broader increase. The data do not establish that using agents led to more meetings. In an April 2026 survey with an open-ended question, 20% of respondents described moving from doing tasks themselves toward managing Claude agents.
