Alphabet plans to increase capital expenditures significantly in 2027 as demand for computing capacity keeps its artificial-intelligence buildout in an early expansion phase, President and Chief Investment Officer Ruth Porat said Monday. Porat said Alphabet is spending roughly $200 billion on AI capacity in 2026 and views the infrastructure expansion as a long-term opportunity. “We do see this as an opportunity that extends for quite some time,” she said. The spending is already pressuring cash generation.
