Airbnb plans to launch AI travel agent in first half of 2027

The home-sharing company used its Q3 shareholder letter to set a timeline and explain how its agent will differ from a typical chatbot Airbnb has been dropping hints about an in-house AI travel agent for a while. Now it has a launch window: the first half of 2027. The company put the timeline in its Q3 shareholder letter on Thursday. It also explained what the agent will actually do, which is more than most AI announcements bother with. According to the shareholder letter, the agent will draw on a library of hundreds of travel-specific interface elements.
