AI Executives Pitch Family and Social Uses Without Showing Broad Demand

AI executives have described tools for family routines and social interactions, but examples involving a school assignment, a proposed podcast and difficult conversations leave consumer demand unmeasured. Dazzle founder and former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer used an AI assistant when her daughter’s teacher asked her to prepare three bullet points describing her daughter for a school presentation. Mayer initially described the task as overwhelming. In an Oct. 26 post, she explained that she was testing a prototype still in development.
