AI, Debt and Stablecoins Put Crypto at a Strategic Crossroads

Artificial intelligence, rising public debt and stablecoin payments are pushing crypto into a strategic transition involving both long-term security risks and near-term adoption opportunities. OpenAI released mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model on Oct. 6, including formalized proofs in Lean, reasoning summaries and estimates of the computing power used. The average result required the equivalent of roughly three hours of ChatGPT Pro thinking. The advance does not show that AI has defeated the cryptography securing Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum.
