AI agents drive over 13 million XRPL transactions as institutions invest

Autonomous artificial intelligence systems are now driving the bulk of settlement activity on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), signaling a shift away from traditional retail transactions. According to on-chain data from t54.ai, machine-driven transaction flow has become central to XRPL’s commercial usage, with AI agents handling increasingly complex microtransactions. Transaction activity on XRPL has surged, with daily settlements surpassing 600,000 and occasionally touching 700,000 at the turn of September and October. This uptick aligns with the growing presence of AI-infused agents and services on the network. The infrastructure supporting automated operations has expanded rapidly, with 169 different merchants now active.
