AI is accelerating the discovery of software vulnerabilities, putting Bitcoin’s cautious development and review process in focus as a potential security strength. The transition also exposes the challenge of finding and fixing decades of accumulated software errors. Speaking in a Bitcoin Magazine discussion on October 23, technical editor Shinobi said AI was sharply accelerating vulnerability discovery and remediation. He said Bitcoin Core appeared to have avoided serious or critical findings so far, crediting developers’ conservative approach. Shinobi described the PHP vulnerabilities as major memory-management errors.
