Abstract Blockchain Ceases Operations December 2026

Abstract, the Ethereum layer-2 network developed by Igloo Inc., the company behind Pudgy Penguins, will cease operations on December 15, 2026. Igloo confirmed the shutdown this month, with CEO Luca Netz stating the company has incurred tens of millions of dollars in losses funding the chain since its inception. Users of the Abstract network have until mid-December to transfer their funds using the project's native bridge. Failure to do so may result in permanent loss of access to these assets.
