Dominic Williams, founder of DFINITY, the developer of Internet Computer, has made striking accusations regarding the NEAR Protocol. In a lengthy statement published today on X, Williams claims that one of the core components of NEAR Intents relies on proprietary technology developed by DFINITY. At the heart of the debate is threshold signature technology, which enables different computers to sign transactions together. According to Williams, DFINITY's method triples the signing process compared to alternatives without compromising security. Williams argued that the relevant work was licensed exclusively to Internet Computer.
